Flat-rate pricing across the lineup is based on the size you choose, the materials and the rental duration — delivery, pickup and disposal are all rolled into that one number, no hidden fees. Debris needs to stay below the container's top rail on every size so our driver can haul it safely, and that holds whether it lands on your driveway or, on the rare job that needs the street instead, wherever your local permit rules allow.
Is this the one?
The 10 yard carries the smallest number on our lineup, but it earns its place: room for roughly 50 to 70 standard trash bags of dense material in a container short enough to sit square on some of Johnson City's tightest lots — the older, closer-in streets near downtown and around the Science Hill High School and ETSU neighborhoods included, where narrow driveways and close-set homes leave little room to spare for a bigger box. It's also the size we point toward whenever a cleanout turns up an old appliance. Tennessee doesn't have a state law banning refrigerators, window units or water heaters from the landfill the way it does for tires and batteries — the federal Clean Air Act's Section 608 refrigerant rule is what actually governs those items, requiring any refrigerant to be recovered before disposal — but in practice the local facility that receives our loads commonly requires that recovery step before an appliance can be accepted, and the City of Johnson City's own guidance routes bulky furniture and appliances through a scheduled pickup call rather than routine curbside collection. Either way, an old appliance is usually better pulled out and handled on its own than loaded straight into the box.
At 14 ft long × 7.5 ft wide × 3.5 ft high with a 1–2 ton weight allowance, it's built for dense debris rather than bulk — a small shingle tear-off on a single-layer roof, an old fixture or two, or a yard's worth of trimmings from a property anywhere in Washington County. The low side walls make it the easiest container on the lot to hand-load, and its short footprint fits comfortably on a standard Johnson City driveway without crowding the garage or the street. Almost every 10 yard we set across Johnson City sits entirely on private property, where a permit question never comes up. On the rare job that genuinely needs the public street instead, a local permit is typically required — call us and we'll help you sort out what your specific address needs before the truck ever leaves our 2303 S Greenwood Dr yard.
Straight advice: If the pile is dense — shingles, old fixtures, a little masonry — this is usually the right container no matter how small the job feels. Keep debris below the top rail, and set aside any appliance with a compressor or refrigerant line to handle separately; a bigger box doesn't help with heavy material, it just costs more to move around the yard.
Compare
Same flat-rate pricing model across all five. The real question is which weight allowance and bag capacity matches your materials — dense debris, roofing, a remodel or a construction phase.

A small cleanout, a single-layer roofing shingle tear-off, yard trimmings, or general debris from a smaller property. It holds roughly 50 to 70 standard trash bags of debris and a 1–2 ton weight allowance — the shortest container we run, which is exactly why it sits square on tighter, older driveways near downtown without crowding the street.
In most cases, no. Almost every 10 yard we deliver sits entirely on the customer's own driveway or private property, where a permit question doesn't come up. If the container genuinely has to sit in the public street instead, a local permit is typically required — call us and we're glad to help you sort out what your address needs.
We'd rather you didn't load it straight in. Tennessee doesn't have a state landfill ban specific to appliances the way it does for tires and batteries — federal Clean Air Act rules govern refrigerant recovery instead — but the local facility that receives our loads commonly requires that recovery step before an appliance can be accepted. Pull it aside and tell us when you call; we can usually point you to the right drop-off or scheduled pickup option.
